We had a great time seeing many old and new faces last week at the BIM Coordinators Summit 2023 in Dublin.
This was BIMLauncher’s 3rd year participating and it’s great to see the event growing exponentially! Every year seems to attract better speakers and attendees, and the icing on the cake is connecting with the larger industry community, as everyone is approachable and welcomes new conversations.
It was especially great to meet people like Ian Harding and Moritz Mombour, who demonstrated the value they’re seeing from Revizto.
Himani Shah from Red Sea Global described the company’s challenges to deliver mega projects in Saudi Arabia.
I enjoyed meeting Ross Griffin and hearing his anecdotal stories about how an integrated QA workflow has benefitted their customers at Kosmos. (Also, congrats to them on the award for best sponsor!)
BIMLauncher customer Ray Blewitt shared the story of John Paul Construction’s digital transformation.
Ben Wallbank had an engaging presentation about leveraging Viewpoint at Hinkley Point; he shared his insight to technology adoption challenges in the round table that followed. To summarize, they ran a pilot project in order to get buy-in from the C-suite on the success of the pilot based on KPIs and benchmarking, which drove excellent results for everyone involved.
Lastly, catching up with friends and value-added resellers including Diatec Group and Accienta was also great.
Big Takeaways:
Overall, the message was that as a whole, businesses today are facing increasing challenges recruiting the right people as their project volume increases.
The best way to improve is to do more with what you have.
Automation can help by removing remedial tasks and ensuring that things are delivered correctly the first time, so that information delivery doesn’t cost businesses more than it should.
I wrote a piece on this topic last year that offers more background.
Finally, we were fortunate to hear some gratifying feedback from friends watching virtually online about our talk covering the massive cost savings associated with connecting teams to a project CDE (Common Delivery Environment) using BIMLauncher automations
And with that, we are delighted to share two new articles on the first pages of the highly anticipated annual BIM Coordinators Summit magazine.
